19 of Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been won on hard courts

A revitalized Medvedev secured his maiden trophy for nearly 30 months with success over opponent Moutet in the tournament championship match.

The Russian, a ex- number one, has experienced a torrid period, managing just one win at the major tournaments and suffering a difficult moment at the US Open.

Medvedev's inconsistency on the professional circuit - and issues with his serve in especial - caused him dropping out of the world's top 10 and ultimately separating with long-term mentor Cervara.

Now working with his coach and Goetzke, he has gradually progressed in the last few weeks - peaking in a tightly fought competitive victory over opponent Corentin Moutet.

It is his first title following the Italian tournament and initial on a hard surface from spring of that year.

Victory also indicates Medvedev has won 21 championships at 21 various competitions.

"For the first time I am participating in a competition with my both daughters at once, so to win a championship is really nice," said tennis professional Medvedev.

"This title is in honour of my younger daughter my daughter, because the initial championship I got when my child Alisa was delivered was for her."

Medvedev, the 2021 US Open champion, had lost his previous six finals, comprising in Halle previously this season.

His counter-punching strategy and frequent outbursts on the playing surface had led commentators to question if his capacity to play at the top level was over.

But the player has implemented adjustments in the last few weeks, attempting to advance forward and play aggressively, supported by an better serving game.

The champion fought back from a disadvantage in the opening set against the difficult opponent, securing 4 of the final five exchanges to gain the advantage.

Both players swapped service breaks in the following set before Moutet, bidding for his maiden ATP Tour championship, took control to force a decider.

Moutet saved 4 early-game opportunities in a competitive final set before the champion secured a break to 15 to close out the victory.

Appropriately, Medvedev clinched victory with a shot at the front of the court, with the Frenchman failing to manage a shot after over two and a half hours.
